Why backpackers come to Annapurna region

The Annapurna region is the country behind Pokhara: Gurung and Magar villages, stone trails and teahouses. Ghandruk is the usual first overnight on the way toward Annapurna Base Camp, and the lower hills are where the shorter Poon Hill circuit runs.

Pokhara is the city you leave from, and it has its own page. This destination is the walking country itself. Lodges are simple, the food is dal bhat, and the views depend on an early start before the clouds build.
