Why backpackers come to Bandipur

Bandipur was a trading stop on the old trail and the bazaar is still closed to cars. The street is a few hundred metres of brick houses, cafes and family guesthouses, with a ridge walk to the Tundikhel viewpoint.

It works as one night on the Kathmandu–Pokhara bus. Get off at Dumre and take the short ride up the hill. Clear mornings show the Himalaya; the village itself is the reason to stop.
