Why backpackers come to Nagarkot

Nagarkot is a viewpoint more than a town. On a clear morning the range from Langtang to Everest lines up beyond the terrace, and the rest of the day is short walks along the ridge.

It is close enough to Kathmandu for one night. Go up in the afternoon, stay for sunrise, and leave after breakfast. Clouds often sit on the peaks by late morning, so do not plan the view for the afternoon.
