Pokhara Travel Guide

Getting there
Tourist buses from Kathmandu take roughly 6–8 hours. Flights take about 25 minutes and land at Pokhara's domestic or international airport.
Where to stay
Lakeside is where most budget hostels are, along the eastern shore of Phewa Lake. The north end is quieter; the central streets are closer to bars and restaurants.
Things to do
Paraglide from Sarangkot, hike or boat across to the World Peace Pagoda, rent a boat on Phewa Lake, and visit the International Mountain Museum.
Pokhara is the start or end point for Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit.
Budget
A comfortable backpacker budget is around US$20–30 a day including a dorm bed, local meals and a few activities, with paragliding or rafting as extra.
